Continuing a series of recent tech mogul visits to Taiwan including Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, and Lisa Su, CEO of AMD — OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Andrew Ng have followed suit in September 2023. This presented me with the opportunity to attend two key AI events: Redefining Tomorrow: The AI Revolution (AI大師論壇-人工智慧如何形塑人類未來) conference and Dr. Andrew Ng: Opportunities in AI (吳恩達博士 專題演講 — 人工智慧的契機) in Taipei where I had the privilege of meeting Andrew Ng. For context, Andrew is recognized by Time 100 as one of the most influential people in the world — -his portfolio boasts highly esteemed credentials ranging from founder of DeepLearning.AI, to co-founder of Google Brain and Coursera, amongst many others. As the author of over 200 research papers in ML, robotics, and the like, he imparted pearls of wisdom that I will further reverberate.
